Owner, Gene Novak started out his masonry career in 1978 as a mason tender for Grand Traverse Construction. Through the years Gene worked his way up the ladder and completed his masonry apprenticeship in 1982. In 1984 Gene went to work for a well known Leelanau County Mason, Joe Czerniak, where he was employed as a Mason Foreman for the next 18 years. In 2000 Czerniak retired and Novak Masonry, Inc. was established. For the past 10 years Gene has been in business with a committed workforce which includes his sons Chad and Shawn to carry on the family tradition.
